The Earth produces many colors of
Apatite, but today we will focus on Blue Apatite. Apatite gets its name
from the Greek word apate which means “to deceive.” Apatite was given this name
because over time it has been consistently confused for a multitude of
other minerals. The most notable of Apatite deposits are found in Mexico,
Canada, Brazil, Germany and Russia. Apatite has a hardness of 5 and is calcium
phosphate mineral.
This stone is one of cohesiveness. It
works on multiple levels of the human experience - physically, emotionally,
mentally and spiritually, but also connects us to ourselves on multiple
dimensions. Apatite helps us reconnect to the ideal so that all aspects work
harmoniously. On a chakra level, Blue Apatite is of the wind element and is
associated with both the throat and third eye chakras, but is a great overall
cleanser for the physical, mental and auric fields.
Known for stimulating the third eye and
increasing its energy and clarity, this stone makes for a great mineral when
trying to increase one’s channeling or intuitive capabilities. For those
interested in lucid dreaming, Blue Apatite paired with a Herkimer Diamond would
be the ultimate boost. Apatite is very versatile as it works to reduce
irritability and creates a feeling of clarity, peaceful relaxation and
connectedness. It is best cleansed with energy healing, smudge or water and
charged on a cluster.
