Fluorite is a
fairly common mineral. Most fluorite is mined in China but can also be found in
the US, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and Germany. It is a soft mineral
and its name stems for the Latin word for “flow”. This stone is often seen in
an octahedron shape but is generally found in a tumbled form. It occurs in a
wide range of colors such as clear, green, purple, yellow, pink, blue and
multicolored or rainbow, with the most common being green, purple and rainbow.
Fluorite is a
wonderful stone to work with when one is in need of mental clarity. It helps us
put our scattered thoughts into order and properly pursue our goals. Its energy
is very air- like, clearing the mental fields and bringing about clarity of
thought and good mental discrimination. Placing a grid of fluorite around one’s
computer workstation will help to disperse chaotic EMFs (electromagnetic
frequencies) that many believe is harmful to the energetic/auric body. This
stone also helps to balance both hemispheres of the brain and can help to
increase one’s psychic abilities (purple and blue fluorite especially).
Flourite assists in overcoming fear and allows for clarity with emotions, it is
both calming and cleansing. This stone is beneficial when suffering from
insomnia and helps lessen mental chatter. Used in meditation, it helps to
connect with the higher self. Flourite can be cleared with water without salt
and charged in sunlight.
