"We
cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are"
~Max de Pree~
Learning to embrace change is very important
in our daily lives. By embracing change in your life, you allow this
transformation to become a permanent factor in your spiritual development. One spiritual trailblazer, Mahatma Gandhi who embodied all of these traits,
stated “We but mirror the world. All the
tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body.
If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As
a man changes his own nature, so dies the attitude of the world change towards
him? This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source
of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”
Perhaps
the most important constant as we embrace change is to keep your mind from
spinning or spiraling out of control. The challenges of the past and
the uncertainty of the future can distract us from the here and now. It is too
easy to get locked into a pattern of believing that the thoughts in our heads
are all there when we cycle through those same thoughts over and over again.
Change
can be trying under the best of circumstances. However, we must use our
consciousness to transform our thoughts about change and BE what we desire to
be.
One way to achieve change is to remove
judgment from our perceptions. Secondly, we can choose to analyze the truth of
our situations through observation and reflection. Viewpoints used to embrace
change may lead toward unique paths of sensitivity as well as tie up any loose
ends that may erode us emotionally and mentally. Change is ever-present and it is important to
look at the patterns of our own life in your community and family. Every
positive change made has the capacity to embrace love; thus every breath and
every action you achieve is a reflection not only of your infinite self, but
the infinite love of the universe.
