Last
month we were humbled and touched to find out that someone had made an
anonymous $200 donation to one of the charities we support (Elementals of Life)
on our behalf. Whoever you are, we want to thank you so much for your
contribution and for reminding us all to give from the heart.
When
you walk into our tea area or meditation room, you are immediately greeted by
huge Shiva Lingam stones. These stones have been used for thousands of years by
Tibetan Monks to line their temples. Shiva Lingams give off the energy of
peace, oneness and rebirth.
Before
we opened our doors in November of 2008, Elementals of Life approached us about
having these Shiva Lingams in our center. We were completely honored to be
chosen to hold such sacred stones in our space. It was a gift that has
continued to bless our center and clients for over 5 years.
It is a blessing to see
these amazing stones that were gifted to us have blessed others so much that
they were compelled to give back as well. This got us thinking... This is the
magic of giving from the heart. Not just paying it forward because you think
you ought to, but paying it forward because your heart urges you to make a
difference in some way. When you give from the heart, your blessings continue
to live on through the hearts of others and that’s the beauty of the word
blessing.
This month we ask that
you find something that tugs at your heart strings and give back not only as a
blessing to another, but as a blessing to yourself. Not only does it feel good
to make a difference in someone’s life, but it’s also good karma. When you send
blessings from the heart to others, you receive blessings within your life
tenfold. The art of attraction.
So try lending some of
your time at the homeless shelter or your nearest animal shelter. Make a
contribution to the disabled veterans or cancer society. Make gift baskets for
families in need or donate those old instruments to the art program at your
neighborhood school. Give something from the heart and love
will spread throughout the universe!
