The Healing Properties of Tea
We all are aware of how wonderful tea tastes, but
some of us may not fully understand what tea does for our body. We have so many
choices that it can seem overwhelming to try and understand: black tea, white
tea, green tea, hot tea, cold tea. Let us help de-clog your brain and explain
it simply.
Many popular teas (such as: Green, Black, White,
and Oolong) derive from a plant called Camellia Sinensis. This plant is usually
found in China and India. It contains antioxidants called flavonoids.
Flavonoids help fight heart disease, clogged arteries and even some cancers.
Green Tea is made with steamed leaves and has
a high concentration of EGCG. Green Tea helps to burn fat, lowers stress on the
brain, reduces the risk of neurological disorders such as: Alzheimer’s and
Parkinson’s disease and improves cholesterol levels.
Black Tea is made with fermented leaves and
has a high level of caffeine. Black tea is known for its protective nature. It
protects the lungs from damage caused by exposure to cigarette smoke.
White Tea is known for its anticancer
properties. It isn’t as processed as most other teas. It is uncured and unfermented.
So no matter what kind of tea you choose, you are
doing your body a favor by opting for a healthier choice. Happy tea drinking!
