There
is so much that can be done with essential oils. Because they are oils
extracted from a plant, they are usually much more potent than just using the
plant itself. Essential oils are natural and healthy alternative solutions.
They can be used to heal yourself, and as cleaning agents that are better for
the environment and you.
Many
essential oils have antibacterial,
antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antibiotic
properties. Many are also high in antioxidants. Because they penetrate the skin
more easily, they act much faster than other medicines.
Each essential oil has a list of ailments it
can help with. For example, lavender helps with burns, bug bites, rashes, and
can act as a disinfectant all while providing a calming scent. Tea tree oil is
great for acne, cold sores, and warts.
Not only are there a lot of oils to choose
from, but you can use them in various ways as well. They can be diluted in
lotion or a carrier oil, like olive oil or jojoba oil, and used in massage. You
can add a few drops into bath water, or into a vaporizer. Alternatively, you
can add some to warm water and inhale the steam, or put it directly onto a
tissue and breathe in.
To learn more about oils, come to The Art of Attraction-Creating
Aphrodisiacs this Saturday 1/24. This class will be geared towards creating oil
blends to make products that you can use this Valentine’s Day.
